SPX Price / Gamma
Candles with each strike's gamma drawn as a band across the chart.
What it shows
A candlestick chart of the session with a horizontal band at every strike, coloured by the sign of that strike's market-maker gamma at the replay minute, with strength relative to the largest strike on the board that minute. It puts the ladder and the price path on one axis.
What it is built from
The same per-strike market-maker gamma as the Strike Profile, drawn across the session's price candles. Built from licensed CBOE one-minute SPX and VIX data with market-maker positioning, recomputed every minute.
Reading
How to read it
- A strong positive band above price is a level price has tended to reach and then stall at.
- A strong positive band below price has tended to act as a floor.
- Candles passing through a negative band without pausing is the 'moves through' behaviour of negative gamma.
- Hover a band to read its strike and GEX.
