SPX Strike Profile - Table

The same exposure as a strike-by-expiry grid of numbers.

What it shows

Rows are strikes, columns are expiries, and each cell is the market-maker exposure for that strike and expiry at the replay minute. It is the Table view of the Strike Profile slot and shares its metric, range and account-type settings.

What it is built from

The same market-maker exposure as the Strike Profile chart, laid out by strike and by expiry. Built from licensed CBOE one-minute SPX and VIX data with market-maker positioning, recomputed every minute.

Reading

How to read it

  1. Read across a row to see which expiry carries a strike's exposure.
  2. Read down a column to see one expiry's ladder as numbers.
  3. A column headed with 'AM' is an AM-settled expiry (SPX third-Friday monthly).
  4. With Heatmap on, the largest cells take colour and the rest fade to the background.
  5. The bar above the table is the colour key: the largest negative value on screen, zero, and the largest positive, with the unit.
  6. The row under the table is each expiry's total, named for what the cells show (Net GEX, Net VEX, Net CEX, Net DEX).
  7. Hover a cell to see that strike and expiry's GEX, VEX, CEX and DEX, with GEX and DEX split into calls and puts. In Blend it shows each exposure's part of the score (the parts add up to it); in Confluence, which of the three count as large.

Controls

What each control does

ControlOptionsWhat it changes
Data mode dropdownGEX, DEX, VEX, CEX, Blend, ConfluenceWhich exposure fills the cells, or one of the two combined views below.
Blendin the Data mode dropdownOne score per cell, from −1 to +1, combining GEX, VEX, CEX and DEX for that strike and expiry. The row under the table has no total.
Confluencein the Data mode dropdownMarks the cells where at least two of GEX, VEX and CEX are large and point the same way: +2/3 or +3/3 when positive, −2/3 or −3/3 when negative. The row under the table counts the marked cells.
Settings > Scale$ (absolute), %, +/-10Dollar values, or each cell as a share of its column's largest cell, shown as a percent or on a -10 to +10 scale. Not offered in Blend or Confluence.
Settings > HeatmapOn / Off (default off)Shades the largest cells on screen so the strikes that matter stand out.
Expiry column pickerAll, Clear, Wk, 2W, OPEX, Mth, or tick individual expiriesWhich expiry columns are visible. Saved per slot.
0DTE onlyon / offCollapses the table to the front column.
Range / Step / Account typesame as the chart viewSame effect as in the chart view.
Settings > PeaksAll, ±, Max (default All)All shades every cell as usual. ± keeps only each column's largest positive and largest negative cell lit and fades the rest. Max keeps only each column's single largest cell by size, either sign. Saved per slot.
Settings > Blend weightsGEX, VEX, CEX, DEX, each 0 to 1, and Reset (Blend only)How much each exposure counts toward the Blend score. Saved per slot.
Settings > RowsComfortable, Compact (default Comfortable)Comfortable fits the rows to the panel; Compact uses short rows so more strikes fit. Saved per slot.

Read it with

Good to know

  • % and +/-10 compare cells within one column. Use $ to compare across expiries.
  • It shares its metric, range and account type with the chart view, so you can flip between the two on the same minute.
  • Blend and Confluence combine the four exposures on screen; they are not a separate measurement and have no unit.
