# Install quantedOptions Profile — instructions for Claude

You are helping a trader install quantedOptions Profile (the quantedOptions charting plugin) on their charting platform. Follow this file exactly. Ask which platform they use, then do only that platform's section. Do not invent paths or settings that are not written here. If something on their machine does not match, stop and tell them what you found instead of guessing.

## Ground rules

- The customer needs: a quantedOptions account with the Orderflow Plugin (or quantedUltra, which includes it), their API key (starts with `qo_live_`, shown on https://www.quantedoptions.com/orderflow-plugin after signing in), and the plugin file for their platform (downloaded from the same page — it lists the platforms on their plan; the Orderflow Plugin covers two platforms of their choice, others can be added).
- Never ask them to paste the API key into a chat. They type it into the plugin's settings themselves. If they paste it anyway, do not repeat it back or store it anywhere.
- The API base URL is always `https://www.quantedoptions.com/api` — the `www` is required. Without it the request is redirected and the plugin does not follow redirects.
- Every platform's plugin has the same connection settings: base URL, API key, source ticker `AUTO`, conversion `AUTO`, Book "Today's / nearest expiry". Only the labels differ.
- One key works on every platform, on up to three machines at the same time. More than that, or sharing the key, is a breach of the terms of service.
- Close the platform before copying files into its folders; open it again afterwards. (Bookmap is the exception — it loads add-ons while running.)
- Where a step says "copy", you may do the copy for them if you have file access; otherwise tell them the exact source and destination and wait for confirmation.

## What success looks like (all platforms)

Within a few seconds of adding the plugin to a chart of ES, MES, NQ, MNQ, RTY, M2K, YM, MYM, GC or MGC:

1. A ladder of horizontal bars appears along the right side of the chart, one per strike.
2. A data panel appears in the bottom-left corner. Its first line names the chart and the source, for example `ES · from SPX 0DTE 08-19`, then `SPX 6480.25 → ES 6512.00`.
3. The dot in the panel header is green (feed under two minutes old). Amber = a few minutes old, red = stale. Outside market hours the feed holds the last book and the dot stays green.

## If it doesn't work (all platforms)

| Symptom | Fix |
|---|---|
| Panel or label shows HTTP 401 or 403 | Wrong key, or a key with spaces before/after, or an out-of-date plugin file. Re-copy the key; download the current file. |
| Nothing draws, no error | The URL is missing `www`. It must be exactly `https://www.quantedoptions.com/api`. |
| Bars sit at the wrong prices | The chart has no live last price yet, or the symbol is not one of the supported futures. Wait for a tick, or set the source ticker by hand (ES/MES → SPX, NQ/MNQ → QQQ, RTY/M2K → IWM, YM/MYM → DIA, GC/MGC → GLD). |
| "rate limited" | Too many charts across all their machines. Close a few or wait a minute. |
| Still stuck | Ask for a screenshot and the platform's log lines starting with `qO Profile` or `quantedOptions Profile`; tell them to send both to quantedOptions support. |

## Sierra Chart

Download: `quantedoptions_profile_sierra.zip` — unzip it; inside is `quantedOptions_Profile_64.dll` (plus a licence file, not installed). Requires 64-bit Sierra Chart, build 2910 or newer.

1. Find the Data Files Folder: Global Settings › General Settings › Paths › "Data Files Folder". Usually `C:\SierraChart\Data`.
2. Close Sierra Chart.
3. Copy `quantedOptions_Profile_64.dll` into that Data Files Folder.
4. Start Sierra Chart. Open a chart for one of the supported futures.
5. Analysis › Studies › Add Custom Study. Expand `quantedOptions Profile`, select the study `quantedOptions Profile`, click Add, then Settings.
6. Inputs to fill in:
   - `API base URL ('mock' = demo data, no key needed)` → `https://www.quantedoptions.com/api`
   - `API key (qo_live_...; empty = reuse %APPDATA%\quantedOptions\plugin.json)` → their key
   - `Options underlying (AUTO = from the chart symbol)` → `AUTO`
   - `Price conversion to this chart (AUTO = by instrument)` → `AUTO`
   - `Book (...)` → `Today's / nearest expiry`
   - Leave `HTTP engine` on `Built-in (no flicker)`.
7. Click OK. A small label reads `quantedOptions Profile - connecting` until data arrives.

Updating: Analysis › Build Custom Studies DLL › Build › "Release All DLLs and Deny Load", replace the DLL, then "Allow Load DLLs" — or close Sierra, replace, reopen. Log: Window › Message Log, lines starting `qO Profile`.

## NinjaTrader 8

Download: `quantedoptions_profile_nt.zip`. Do not unzip it — NinjaTrader imports the zip as it is.

1. Control Center › Tools › Import › NinjaScript Add-On. Pick the zip. NinjaTrader compiles it and reports success.
2. Open a chart (for example ES 5 minute).
3. Right-click the chart › Indicators › find `quantedOptions Profile` › add it.
4. Under Connection: `API base URL` → `https://www.quantedoptions.com/api`; `API key (qo_live_…)` → their key; `Source ticker` → `AUTO`; `Conversion` → `AUTO`; `Book` → `TodaysOrNearestExpiry`. Click OK.
5. Optional SuperDOM column: right-click the SuperDOM › Columns › add `qO GEX`. Same connection settings.

Updating: import the new zip; if NinjaTrader reports duplicate names, Tools › Remove NinjaScript Assembly first. Log: New › NinjaScript Output, lines starting `quantedOptions Profile`.

## ATAS X (Windows)

Download: `quantedoptions_profile_atas.zip` — unzip it; inside is `QuantedOptions.Atas.dll` (single file; the licence file is not installed). ATAS Classic is not covered.

1. Close ATAS X.
2. Open `%APPDATA%\ATAS X\Indicators` (paste that path into the File Explorer address bar).
3. Copy `QuantedOptions.Atas.dll` into it.
4. Start ATAS X. Open a chart for a supported future.
5. Indicators › search `quanted` › add `quantedOptions Profile`.
6. Group `1. Connection`: `API base URL` → `https://www.quantedoptions.com/api`; `API key (qo_live_…)` → their key; `Options underlying` → `AUTO — from the chart symbol`; `Price conversion` → `AUTO — from the chart symbol`; `Book` → `Today's / nearest expiry (0DTE; the panel says which)`. Apply.

Updating: close ATAS X, replace the DLL, reopen. Log: `%APPDATA%\ATAS X\Logs\app_<date>.log`, lines starting `qO Profile`. Note: a delayed data feed shifts the strikes by the last minutes of movement; a real-time feed places them correctly.

## Quantower (also Optimus Flow, AMP-branded Quantower)

Download: `quantedoptions_profile_quantower.zip` — unzip it; inside are `QuantedOptions.Quantower.dll` and `QuantedOptions.Core.dll` (plus a licence file, not installed).

1. Find the Quantower root folder — the one containing `Settings` and `TradingPlatform`, usually `C:\Quantower`.
2. Close Quantower.
3. Inside `<Quantower root>\Settings\Scripts\Indicators\` create a folder named `quantedOptions` and copy both DLLs into it, so they end up in `...\Indicators\quantedOptions\`. Both files must be in that subfolder, not loose in `Indicators`.
4. Start Quantower. Open a chart for a supported future.
5. Indicators button › search `quantedOptions Profile` › add.
6. Group Connection: `API base URL ('mock' = ...)` → `https://www.quantedoptions.com/api`; `API key (qo_live_...)` → their key; `Options underlying (...)` → `AUTO — from the chart symbol`; `Price conversion to this chart (...)` → `AUTO — from the chart symbol`; `Book (...)` → `Today's / nearest expiry (0DTE; the panel says which)`. Apply.

The free edition allows two indicators per chart; this plugin takes one slot. Updating: close Quantower, replace both DLLs, reopen. Log: `<Quantower root>\Logs`, lines starting `qO Profile`.

## MotiveWave

Download: `quantedoptions_profile_mw.jar` (one file, nothing to unpack). MotiveWave 7 or newer, any edition.

1. Close MotiveWave.
2. Copy the jar into the `MotiveWave Extensions` folder in the user's home folder (Windows `C:\Users\<name>\MotiveWave Extensions`, macOS `~/MotiveWave Extensions`). If replacing an older version, delete the old jar.
3. Start MotiveWave. Open a chart for a supported future.
4. Study menu › `quantedOptions` › `quantedOptions Profile`.
5. Connection tab: `API base URL` → `https://www.quantedoptions.com/api`; `API key (qo_live_…)` → their key; `Source ticker` → `AUTO — from the chart symbol`; `Conversion` → `AUTO — from the chart symbol`; `Book` → `Today's / nearest expiry (0DTE; the panel says which)`. Click OK.

To change settings later: right-click the study on the chart › Edit (picking it from the Study menu again adds a second copy). Log: View › Display › Study Log, lines starting `qO Profile`.

## Bookmap

Download: `quantedoptions_profile_bookmap.jar` (one file, nothing to unpack). Bookmap 7 or newer.

1. Start Bookmap. Add-ons › Configure add-ons › Add › pick the jar. `quantedOptions Profile` appears in the list.
2. Open a chart for a supported future and switch the add-on on for that instrument.
3. Add-on settings, section `quantedOptions Profile — connection`: `API key` → their key; `API base URL` → `https://www.quantedoptions.com/api` (a fresh install points at demo data — this must be changed); `Source ticker` → `AUTO`; `Conversion` → leave as is; `Book` → `Today's / nearest expiry`.
4. Click `Apply connection`.

If the bars look generic and do not move with the market, the URL is still the demo value. Updating: remove the old jar in the add-ons manager, add the new one, switch it on again; settings are kept.
